We are looking for a highly motivated purchase manager with proven track record in proven track record in a similar purchasing role, be able to demonstrate first class negotiating skills, and have extensive experience within the Automotive Industry.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities

  • Developing a sourcing plan and strategy for all commodities of the new vehicle
  • Establish purchase system and
  • Manage and issue RFQ and supply qualification
  • Develop and maintain a reliable base of suppliers who provide good value, competitive pricing and first-class post sales service and support.
  • Liaise with suppliers to understand business/market conditions and any potential impact these might have on Morris
  • Ensure prices negotiated are consistent and competitive.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Good knowledge and experience in automotive engineering and qualify process
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate efficiently with suppliers, customers and all areas of the business
  • Good commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills working with colleagues and external suppliers across a range of disciplines, including manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, sales and finance.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail to effectively support the company in delivering time-bound projects.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Powerpoint & Excel.
  • Any experience or knowledge of  composite manufacturing process, and electric powertrain would be beneficial
  • 10 years plus experience in sourcing role essential
