Morris JE to feature on Channel 4’s ‘Fastest Electric Car’ with Guy Martin

The all-new, all-electric Morris JE featured on Channel 4’s ‘Guy Martin: The World’s Fastest Electric Car?’ on Monday the 9th August at 9pm. The Morris JE was put through its paces by Guy Martin as he examined the van’s cutting-edge Electric Vehicle (EV) technology. Watch the video below!

With its quintessential British design that reimagines the Morris J-Type of the 1950’s, the iconic Morris JE was an eye-catching feature of the show. However, as the show focuses on electric vehicles, Guy’s main attention was the Morris JE’s advanced all-electric driveline.

Fully designed and engineered in Britain, the new BEV light commercial vehicle features a state-of-the-art, fully electric, UK-sourced, lithium-ion battery powertrain. The vehicle benefits from a lightweight, modular skateboard chassis, making it highly adaptable for future derivatives, including a pickup, minibus, or campervan.

The combination of an advanced lightweight chassis and recycled carbon-fibre body makes the Morris JE one of the lightest LCVs in the marketplace. The result is an outstanding power-to-weight efficiency that fully maximises the range of the vehicle, which will be in excess of 200 miles.

The Morris JE will be the only light commercial vehicle on the show. With a payload of 1,000kg and a load volume of 6 m³, the Morris JE is the most desirable eLCV in the 2.5t GVW sector and often beating its rivals in the heavier 3.5t category. The load area measures 2.4 metres long providing plenty of room for two Euro Pallets and more.

‘Guy Martin: The World’s Fastest Electric Car?’ is a 90-minute programme that aired between 9pm and 10.30pm on Monday the 9th of August on Channel 4. However, it is now available to watch anytime on the free-of-charge ‘All 4’ video on demand service.
