Morris Commercial Showcases Sustainable Innovation at NSBRC Festival of Sustainable Homes
Celebrating Sustainability in Swindon
On the 16th and 17th of May, Morris Commercial proudly exhibited at the Festival of Sustainable Homes, hosted at the National Self Build and Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon. The event was dedicated to spotlighting eco-conscious design and technology for self-builders, renovators, and homeowners who are shaping the future of sustainable living. Bringing together innovators from across the sector, it provided the perfect stage to demonstrate how transport can play a vital role in greener lifestyles.
The Morris JE: A Vision of Versatility
At the heart of the exhibition, the Morris JE electric van drew significant attention. Showcased in collaboration with Max McMurdo of Outlandish Campers, the JE featured a bespoke camper conversion designed to highlight how classic automotive charm can align with modern sustainability. Visitors explored how the all-electric van could serve as both a zero-emission commercial vehicle and a versatile platform for off-grid living or eco-friendly adventures. The conversion sparked lively conversations around mobility, design, and the future of sustainable travel.
Introducing the Morris Junior
Alongside the JE, the Morris Junior offered visitors a glimpse into the future of our model range. This display reflected Morris Commercial’s commitment to developing sustainable innovations that not only honour heritage but also provide practical, forward-thinking solutions for tomorrow’s drivers.

The NSBRC: A Hub for Green Inspiration
The NSBRC is the UK’s only permanent venue dedicated to self-build, renovation, and home improvement inspiration. Beyond flagship exhibitions like the Festival of Sustainable Homes, the centre provides year-round workshops, expert advice, and interactive displays to help individuals build smarter and greener homes. It was the ideal environment to demonstrate how the Morris JE fits into the broader vision of sustainable living.
Driving a Cleaner Future Together
For Morris Commercial, partnerships with organisations like the NSBRC and innovators like Max McMurdo are key to showcasing the wider lifestyle potential of electric vehicles. The Festival of Sustainable Homes was more than just an exhibition – it was a chance to connect with like-minded pioneers, inspire eco-conscious choices, and demonstrate how heritage, design, and innovation can unite in the pursuit of sustainability.
