The UK’s SMMT suggests that he/she is!
They report that in the first half of 2022, 60% more Electric Vans were registered than in the same period of 2021. In fact, the swing is even greater than those number suggest. Due to supply shortages, the overall number of new van registrations dropped so the actual market penetration of Electric Van registrations more than doubled from 2.6% to 5.6%. Not a massive share yet, but a significant increase.

Wow, what great news for us at Morris Commercial with our great looking JE all electric van, seen here leaving New Covent Garden Market and of course this is also great news for our planet, which has reminded us recently with the historic UK heatwave, that we all must ACT NOW to reverse climate change.

The second good news from “White Van Man” comes from the think tank “Transport & Environment” (T&E). In a survey they found that nearly nine in ten UK self-employed motorists and business operators who they surveyed confirmed that they either already own an e-van or will consider buying one in the next five years. Their survey also identified the main reasons for converting……

At Morris, we particularly like reason #2, since our iconic JE’s style will even further improve the company’s image!

They also showed their calculation demonstrating that electric plug-in vans are a quarter less expensive to own and run than their diesel-powered equivalent.

The Morris JE has a class leading 1,000 kg payload in a 2,501 kg GVW van. This is achieved by the extensive use of lightweight materials, particularly in the re-cycled carbon fibre body and also in the aluminium bonded chassis. We therefore expect the Morris JE to be even cheaper to run than the examples above.
