Manufacture Engineers
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Production Processes: Identify the most suitable production processes for the assembly of vehicle systems and whole vehicles to suit the low start-up volume and subsequent larger volume targets.
- Production Feasibility: Support Engineering in design reviews to ensure that their designs are optimised for the build processes agreed.
- Production Facility Layout: Assist in determining the most appropriate flexible manufacturing facility layouts to suit the build processes required for each phase of build. Liaise with the facility team to set up and maintain the best possible
- Prototype Build: Work closely with Engineering through the prototype and pre-production build phases to identify issues and optimisation requirements prior to SOP.
- Problem Solving: Record, address and resolve assembly challenges that may arise during the prototype, pre-production and SOP build phases. Enter all issues into the appropriate formal logs to ensure that any required actions are taken.
- Production Quality Assurance: Identify the controls appropriate for each phase of production and help to initiate them and communicate the need to follow these processes. Assist with COP and similar internal and external audits.
- Continuous Improvement: Ensure that a culture of improvement is developed and
- Documentation: Develop and maintain accurate records of the build process, including any modifications made, and provide comprehensive reports to the Management team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Design, Engineering, Purchase, Quality Sales, Finance.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge: Extensive manufacturing process, quality control, continuous improvement, mechanical, electrical, and maintenance knowledge.
- Experience: Proven track record with extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in manufacturing environments, specialising in mechanical, electrical, composite and/or trim work for automotive applications.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, assembly and quality processes.
- Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail in trim work to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional outcomes.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyse and resolve technical challenges efficiently during pre-production and SOP builds.
- Team Player: Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to evolving project requirements and contribute to a dynamic and innovative work environment.
