On Saturday 11th May, Morris Commercial proudly showcased the JE2 prototype at the renowned Prescott Classic Speed Hill Climb, a highlight of the British classic car calendar. Nestled in the rolling Gloucestershire countryside and blessed with clear skies, the event brought together hundreds of motoring enthusiasts for a weekend celebrating performance, heritage, and innovation.
The JE2 Prototype Steals Attention
Displayed trackside, our second prototype electric van – JE2 – took centre stage alongside an extraordinary collection of vintage and classic vehicles. While the historic cars took to the famous hill climb course, our stand became a focal point for visitors eager to explore how Morris Commercial is blending classic British style with future-forward technology.
Adding to the excitement, we presented our collaboration with Max McMurdo of Outlandish Campers, featuring a bespoke camper van conversion built into the all-electric JE. This unique installation highlighted the JE’s flexibility, from commercial applications to sustainable leisure and lifestyle solutions.
Classic Spirit, Modern Technology
Visitors were captivated by the JE’s retro styling, many describing it as a “retro blast from the past” that perfectly captures the charm of the original 1950s Morris J-Type. At the same time, its zero-emissions driveline and lightweight construction demonstrated how tradition can be reimagined through innovation.
