Morris Commercial set out to revive the historic British Icon, the Morris J Type, with state of the art technology, zero emission, full battery electric and complete newly engineered vehicles with the timeless iconic, original Morris Commercial design, heritage and beautiful British craftsmanship –  Morris JE. We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individuals with extensive experience and a proven track record in vehicle body and trim engineering, preferably in the light commercial vehicle/car sector. The successful candidate must be passionate about cars with a strong belief in the future of electric vehicles

 

Roles and Functions Available:

 

  • Vehicle designer and surfacing engineer. Responsible for create/style exterior and interior design changes and new parts integration. Design new variants and vehicle accessories. Create sketches, A surfaces and models as required.
  • Vehicle body and trim design engineer. Working within the engineering team with particular focus in detailed body parts, closures, trim components and other vehicle components design.
  • Vehicle packaging and integration engineer. Responsible for all vehicle packaging design including chassis, interior and exterior, occupancy, and other system packaging to fully packaged vehicle
  • Vehicle Chassis and System Integration Engineers

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Art and design/engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Extensive (10 years +) vehicle design engineering experience
  • Broad automotive engineering and manufacturing knowledge
  • Proficient in Catia V5/6, Catia 3D Experience and other relevant design software such as inventor, solidwork, Alias, Adobe etc
  • Good knowledge and understanding and/or skill in FEA
  • Strong problem-solving skill and communication skill
  • Whole vehicle architecture and geometry knowledge to enable the development of a fully packaged vehicle. Experience in chassis, system and occupancy packaging work (for packaging engineers)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in composite design and light weight critical for body and trim engineers
  • Extensive vehicle body design engineering experience including structure, components, closure and FEA etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in EV is an advantage
  • Creative with up to date knowledge on industrial trend, technologies, materials, engineering methods and legislations.
