Senior Procurement Executive
Position Overview
You will join the purchase team and undertake/manage procurement activities within the company, focusing on sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization to ensuring that the company secures high-quality materials, components, and services in time for the prototype and production of the all-electric Morris JE while maintaining cost efficiency and adherence to quality standards. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
Role and Responsibility
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s business goals, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier reliability.
- Identify, procure and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure the best possible deals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, delivery, and cost expectations.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Collaborate with suppliers to foster innovation and continuous improvement in products and processes.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives across the procurement function, including value analysis, re-engineering, and alternative sourcing.
- Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring that spending aligns with financial targets.
- Analyse and report on cost variances and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure that all procured materials and components meet the required standards and specifications.
- Manage the resolution of any quality issues with suppliers, including the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including environmental and safety requirements.
- Participate in demand planning and forecasting to align procurement activities with production schedules.
- Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring that terms and conditions protect the company’s interests.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including geopolitical risks, supply disruptions, and price volatility.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or relevant certifications such as CPM, CPSM, or CIPS preferred).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3-5 years in a senior role, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and cost-saving
- Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain management principles, practices, and tools.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and manage complex data, forecasts, and financial models.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organization.
